Important Information Regarding Travel Outside Of The US
Requirements for Travel

12/14/2003

All international students, scholars, and their dependents must visit The Office of International Programs prior to travelling outside of the United States.

Those who have F or J status must have their I-20 or DS-2019 document signed for travel. The travel signature is valid for six months. Please come in at least two weeks before your trip to allow time for document review.

Those whose visas have expired will need to plan time during their trip for visa renewal which can be lengthy due to security clearances. The Office of International Programs can write a letter in support of your visa application. If you are a student, it is also helpful to have a letter from your academic advisor detailing your program of study and a transcript to show what you have studied at the university. Scholars should bring a letter verifying employment and describing their research or teaching activity.
